32 years - a success story

Christian Hofer - Chef de cuisine

It was in 1992 when the very young Christian Hofer from Oberlienz joined the Parkhotel kitchen crew as an apprentice. These were early years for him and for the Parkhotel. Christian brought a lot of talent, a lot of calm and level-headedness and had great chefs in front of him during his apprenticeship from whom he was able to optimally learn fine, French-inspired cuisine. After his apprenticeship, he quickly worked his way up to a variety of positions up to sous chef - 16 years later, he took over responsibility for the Parkhotel kitchen as head chef. Christian's kitchen line has proven itself over the years, together with his team time does not stand still, at the same time everything remains as good as always and high quality as always - and yet he and his crew continue to surprise our guests with new ideas - new menus every day , a great à la carte selection and prepares them with a lot of taste and high quality. A pleasure across the board.

In addition to great, varied menus of the highest quality, local and international origin, we also serve fresh food every day Fish dishes from our own ponds and beyond. Sweet temptations from the patisserie and special evenings await you. Our highlight on Sunday evening: the 7-course gala dinner with aperitif reception (in the garden when the weather is nice).

The award-winning kitchen surprises every day and demonstrates a sense of innovation and quality in the use of local products. Lovingly prepared and finely flavored dishes delight the palate. Our cuisine reflects Austrian cuisine with French and Mediterranean influences. Chef Christian Hofer relies on top quality and appreciative preparation of the dishes. Enjoy the varied and daily new menus as part of half board, or enjoy the large selection from our À la carte menu. When was the last time you ate Chateaubriand - carved at the table in two courses? Furthermore, we are allowed to serve our own fish from our own spring ponds - trout, char, huchen - these classically as "Trout meuniere" or refined in new variations. And what could end a good meal better than a heavenly dessert? Our Helga tempts you with her sweet delicacies from her creative patisserie, fine classics such as crème brûlee, mousse, chocolate tarts, homemade sorbets and certainly one of the best Kaiserschmarrn you have ever tasted.

Our house bar and the lobby invite you to have nice conversations and social gatherings on both winter and summer evenings. Let Wayne's signature cocktails accompany you through the evening and also taste the many regional fine spirits and international spirits. Wayne knows how to make great drinks and has a wealth of knowledge about the origins and history of each drink.

 


Flambè prepared at the table

A special specialty is the desserts flambéed at the table - apricots or crêpes Suzettes, served with homemade vanilla ice cream - a real treat across the board. Flambé has a long tradition at the Parkhotel, as it was none other than Josef Kreuzer himself who can look back on a 60-year “flambé anniversary”. Back then - in the 1960s, he learned the routine of flambé and this very special work in front of the guests accompanied him throughout his working life. "Pepi, make us a flambé" they said and he was always happy to do it. Today Marie Theres is allowed to use the flambé pan and, like her father, she is happy about this wonderful task.
