Absolute snow security, no waiting times, well-groomed and marked slopes and the most hours of sunshine south of the Alps guarantee winter fun for the whole family. Again this year: children's reduction up to 18 years old - for a special family holiday.
Another top-class ski offering can be found in Vierschach, near Sillian, with its Helmbahnen. Reachable with your own car (30 minutes) or with the Pustertalbahn, from Lienz to Vierschach and back. The Lienz Ski Express runs every half hour!
In the Lienz area, we have a top ski school, the Ski School Lienz / Zettersfeld (skischule-lienz.at).
Around 140 km of perfectly groomed cross-country trails are available for your personal cross-country skiing experience! You can experience East Tyrol's unique nature and snow-covered landscape while skating or classic cross-country skiing. The extensive network of trails offers you every opportunity for impressive cross-country skiing in East Tyrol (find out more at osttirol.com). Obertilliach has its own biathlon centre, and equipment can be hired there and at other locations.
Snowshoe tours are the absolute highlight. Up into the heart of the Dolomites, over the Weißsteinalm on to Auerling. View of the steep rock faces of the Laserzwand or the Spitzkofel towers or far up into the Pustertal and north into the Schober group, all the way to the white peaks of the Glockner group.

The mountain paradise of East Tyrol, with its many valleys stretching from the entire Glockner region in the north to the Virgental, Defereggental and Pustertal valleys in the south, offers unique touring opportunities (find out more here).
Our guests can be accompanied by professional ski guides on request (please enquire in advance!). Equipment, touring skis, boots, gaiters and skins can be organised on site; please speak to us personally about this.
Thanks to the high density of mighty mountains and the many officially registered ski touring routes, both beginners and experienced ski tourers will find ideal conditions. Sunny slopes, snow-covered valleys and cosy huts also ensure unforgettable moments away from the hustle and bustle.
Fun for the whole family! Tobogganing can be enjoyed throughout East Tyrol and in all valleys.
In the immediate vicinity of the hotel there is a perfectly groomed 7.5 km long natural toboggan run, which is also open at night. Taxis take you up to the Dolomitenhütte (dolomitenhuette.at) at 1600 m, where you can enjoy a beautiful mountain walk before the descent.
The fun toboggan ride then takes you down from the Dolomitenhütte to the Kreithof (1048 m) and from there on to the shores of Lake Tristach (830 m) and back to the hotel.

All of the beautiful areas we have shown you are also suitable for hiking. Of course, there are beautiful hiking trails in the valley but also at all altitudes where there is skiing, so that East Tyrol is also interesing for you during winter time.
Winter hiking holiday in East Tyrol. A very popular tour for this leads via the Faschingalm up to the Naturfreundehütte. The romantic Winkeltal in Ausservillgraten is also beautiful; here you can hike on foot or ride in Ingo's carriage. You can combine easy winter hiking and tobogganing in the Defereggental - here a leisurely hiking route leads up to the Schlietenhütte, from where you can have fun tobogganing or return on foot.
