Cross-country skiing trails near Lienz

There are various cross-country skiing trails of different lengths and levels of difficulty close to the hotel. This means you can enjoy ideal conditions for a varied cross-country skiing holiday in East Tyrol, whether you prefer quiet training sessions or want to be more active.

Dolomites tour

The Dolomites circuit covers 7.5 kilometres and is classified as a moderately difficult trail. It is technically snow-covered and has an elevation gain of around 10 metres. The official start is at the golf clubhouse, which is also the finish point. The route initially runs alongside the golf course and then branches off towards Tristach after a short distance. After a loop through the Tristach fields, it returns to the shared route before heading east with an ascent towards Lavant. From there, the route runs back to the golf course with a slight descent and parallel to the golf course to the clubhouse. The trail is suitable for both classic style and skating, with a start and finish altitude of 650 metres. Opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the recommended season is from December to March.

Lengberg-Nörsach circuit

The Lengberg-Nörsach circuit is 10.5 kilometres long and classified as a moderately difficult trail. It is not covered with artificial snow and has an elevation gain of around 57 metres. The route leads through wide fields, idyllic meadows and forest passages and combines gentle, long climbs with shorter, steeper passages and descents, creating a varied course. Access points are located in Lengberg immediately after the castle junction and in Nikolsdorf at the sports field with parking facilities. The trail is suitable for both skating and classic style skiing, with a start and finish altitude of 640 metres. Opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the recommended season is from January to March.

Illuminated tour in Lavant

The illuminated circuit in Lavant is around 3 kilometres long, classified as an easy trail and technically snow-covered. The start and end points are located at the golf course clubhouse. The trail is illuminated until 9 p.m., allowing cross-country skiing even in the evening hours. It is suitable for both classic and skating styles and expands the training options during your stay. The recommended season is from December to March.

Golfrunde

The golf course is 3.6 kilometres long and classified as an easy trail. It is technically snow-covered and runs almost flat with only one metre of elevation gain. The start and end points are located at the golf clubhouse at 650 metres above sea level. The route runs flat across the golf course in the Lienz valley floor and largely follows the same route as the Dolomites circuit. Due to its flat course, it is particularly suitable for beginners and for shorter training sessions. The trail is suitable for both classic style and skating and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The recommended season is from December to March.
