Winter has arrived at Tristach lake and a thick white layer of snow shrouds the lush green of summer. Hardly anywhere else is the splendour of winter displayed in such a glorious way. The lake, covered by a solid sheet of ice, invites the first of many ice-skaters, while in a specially cordoned-off area, guests can participate in the traditional sport of curling alongside local people.
On and around the lake, cleared paths allow for winter rambling. Tits, bullfinches, finches and many other birds chirp merrily around our bird houses. While the 'Old Lake' lies quietly dormant inviting the winter guest to take a restful walk. In our fish ponds, which never freeze over, the fish are somewhat quieter than in summer. These brief impressions show how suitable our hotel and its grounds are for an unforgettable winter holiday, even for non-skiers.
